Games @ Ju Eng - 13th Oct 04 (Wed)

All in all, the session went relatively fine, though it's not without hiccups...

Problem(s) faced:
1. Win, Lose,Draw game could not be used as we were told
some of the folks would not be able to even guess the word.
2. Initially for passing the parcel, the intervals of music played was too short.
We were asked to wait for a longer duration before stopping the music.

Activities carried out:
1. Passing-The-Parcel
2. Musical Chairs
3. Modified football/bowling

The day-care folks said that they enjoyed the session, and this was confirmewd by lucia goh...
although some of them looked bored, but they were actually enjoying themselves.

Suggestions raised are as follows:
1. More physical activities, less mental games like Win,Lose,Draw
2. Safety issues should be looked into,
eg. mineral water bottles whe nkicked wif more force could hit and hurt others
3. The folks like music with very obvious rhythm
4. Rewards like mentos could be given out, since the folks love to be praised.

walkathon on 9th oct

Hi people.jus want to let you all know what happen on 9th Oct 2004.Ju eng home's walkathon. Anyway, we went there around 2 pm to set up the booth that we put up to raise awareness of the home, as well as get some volunteers.

Unfortunately, we only managed to get one, a pretty girl who is the same age as the guys.Anyway, apparently it was DiKUn's charming smile.lol.ya, thats abt all.

And Alwyn and I went for the walkathon while DK and Baoqin tended the booth. It was quite far. we were taking photos of the old folks and the people who participated in the race. Apparently, One resident was quite amusing. he was complaining htat it was 1630 and it was time for dinner but he had to go for this "dumb" walk.He said that he would not participate in this walk anymore.

Anyway, It was eventful, the whole walkathon. ONly bad thing was that I was bitten by those silly, disgusting and pesty mosquitoes. I still feel itchy now that it has already been 4 days. uggh.

Ya at least, SMU was announced via the PA system. and for those of you that didnt know, Alwyn won the 41st lucky draw prize-a photoframe.DK's intuition didnt work after all.He said that he would be winning a TV.

ya just to start the ball rolling. this blog is specifically to write down the events for the day so that both groups will know what is going on.all the best to the group that is going down tomorrow. see ya soon!
